I have done a couple of these guest posts in past and found them to be helpful and easy to read. In this one I will show you how to write a better about me page so that people can relate to you or your personality.
There are certain things that I use to help me keep grounded and find my voice online. So I am sharing these with you so that you can create your own little “buzz” around yourself and your writing. Your first step should be to find your voice. Find a writer’s block and clear it up by just writing. It may sound silly and simplistic, but it really helps you write a better about me page.
One: Write about what you know. You might think that this is obvious, but sometimes when you’re blogging it can feel like you can talk forever and you don’t want to stop. Find your niche and write about that.
Two: Find a new writer’s block. Don’t let it hit you. If you find yourself procrastinating on starting to blog or not writing at all, then it is not you. You might need to go out and get your juices flowing again. You can also take a class or seek out a mentor.
Three: Make a schedule. When do you blog? When is the best time? Not, when you’re feeling up to it, but make a schedule and stick to it. Once you’ve made one, commit to working on it everyday. Remember that most successful bloggers are regular people, so you’ll have to make your blog as entertaining as possible!
Four: Find blogs that are similar to yours. This can be done with a simple search in your niche. Blogging in general is becoming increasingly popular and finding a lot of information and blogs to follow is easy. But when you’re looking for a blog to follow, make sure that it fits in with what you blog about!
Five: Read everything you can get your hands on. Take notes. There’s a lot of wonderful information out there for you to use and adapt. And there’s more coming out of the blogosphere every day. Use all the information available to you!
These five tips will help you get better at your blog, but it doesn’t stop there. Remember that your blog isn’t even a success until you get thousands of people to visit it and leave their comments. Taking the tips from this article and applying them will get you well on your way to blogging success.
Six: Look for free tips and tools to help you blog better. There are some great free resources out there for you to learn from. Go to Google and do a search for “blogging tips”. You’ll find many sites that offer advice and tips for blogging. Take advantage of them.
Seven: Keep your readers in mind. When you’re starting out, you’ll likely only have one or two readers. You need to think about how you can keep them coming back. One way that you can do this is to post a few posts a week and keep posting new material. Just one or two blog posts a week can have a huge impact on your readership!
Eight: Find ways to interact with your readers. Blogging allows you to interact with other bloggers and readers. This gives you the chance to find out what your audience wants. You can then create your blog to what your readers want.
Nine: Learn from other’s mistakes. There are mistakes that other’s make that you should be taking note of. Simply looking at other blogs will give you a glimpse into what your own readers want. Then, find ways to improve on those topics. Always add new tips, techniques, and ideas to your blog. You’ll soon find your readers and followers and everything else that you ever wanted in a blog.
