Screen Gem for the iPad

I’m a big fan of Cleveland’s Community Web site, The Davelandblog. The blog is great because it gives cubicle-dwelling creatives like me a place to express ourselves creatively. That being said, I also appreciate the community that The Davelandblog provides. I’m always ready to join in on any conversation about whatever Cleveland business news, event or issue is currently buzzing around.

That’s why I love The Davelandblog: Screen Gem Saturday. It’s just like a newsletter, but instead of being delivered in your email, it’s posted to a special screen. Each time a new comment, question or entry is added, a link to it is displayed on the screen. If you are logged in at the Davelandblog, you can go to this page and click on a post that interests you. It’s a great way to stay informed about what’s going on in the neighborhood.

What I like most about The Davelandblog: Screen Gem Saturday is that it allows me to be funny. Sometimes I’ll catch an interesting tidbit of information and write it up. Then I’m sure to share it with friends and coworkers later on. Some people don’t always take things as seriously as I do so sharing my thoughts with others is a great way to loosen up.

I’m a huge sports fan, so I’m thrilled that The Davelandblog: Screen Gem Saturday gives me something else to poke my head out for. It’s a chance to rub elbows with some of the most amazing people in the world of sports. I can bring up memories of my favorite players and run the names through my head while enjoying my favorite sport. This is a blast!

The Davelandblog: Screen Gem Saturday is also filled with great written content. Unlike the blog, I’m sure there will be some things I miss since I’m not onsite for every game. Still, it’s rare to find a site with such an amazing selection of great content written by such an inventive writer. I look forward to having each week an article or two that is written simply for the love of the sport.

In addition to great written content, The Davelandblog: Screen Gem Saturday also features some great games and trivia. I love playing these games because they keep me entertained. They’re quick and easy to pick up. Plus, the site itself is really slick. I’ll often spend several minutes trying to figure out how to play a specific quiz.

Beyond the regular games and quizzes, the site also offers coupons for various products. For example, for each screen that you open, you can receive a free apple. That’s pretty cool. And the website is constantly being updated, so there is plenty to see and do.

The beauty of all this is that I don’t have to leave my computer. If I want to check something out, I just pull up the screen and click on what I want. It’s not like I have to get up from my chair and search around. I’m sure there are some other similar sites, but I think this is one of the best available.

In addition to all the goodies that I mentioned above, The Daveland Blog also has some really nice widgets. I especially like the photo widget. It allows me to easily upload my favorite pictures. I’m sure there are others and I’d encourage anyone who would like to add their own widgets to this site to do so. I’m sure it will help with your SEO and I’m sure you’ll find them very useful.

As I mentioned, this blog isn’t just for adults. There are many things for kids to enjoy. In fact, The Daveland Blog makes kids excited about reading. In addition to fun content, I’m sure there are some educational things going on as well. That means kids can read along and be sure to make sure to check out the blog to see what’s new.

Beyond content, The Daveland Blog has other neat features. To start, they have a “Digg This” button on every page of the site. I’m sure you’ve heard of Digg and how it can really help people get the word out about something important. Well, on The Daveland Blog this is a button you’ll want to press. It’s just one of those things that makes you want to read more.

Overall, The Daveland Blog is another outstanding website with an interesting theme. If you’re interested in Cleveland related stuff, then make sure to check out this site. The screen gem isn’t much different than sites like Digg or StumbleUpon. However, it does have its own advantage over the other two, which is it’s easier to follow along with.
